Elizabeth Lansing, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina. I hold a Master's Degree in Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Douglass College, Rutgers University in New Jersey. I've taken courses and continue to study at the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas (currently as a non-matriculated student) and have also studied CBT. I have  experience providing mental health treatment to adults in both inpatient and outpatient environments, and with parents and children in outpatient psychotherapy.

I am a strong proponent of the biopsychosocial model of mental health, an approach integrating biological, social, and psychological contributions to well-being. This holistic model looks at the many aspects of a person's physical, mental and social conditions that can contribute to psychological health as well as distress.

I tailor my approach to each individual using a combination of contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapy, psycho-education, cognitive-behavioral approaches and supportive therapy in a collaborative effort with my clients. My goal is to help people recognize and interrupt cycles of thoughts and behaviors that hold them back, helping people to develop new patterns over time.
